top twenty

Because I've been so bad at blogging for the past 5 months i've decided to put all my wonderful posts into my top twenty. Enjoy!

#1: BASKETBALL GAMES - I will always love SCHS and will always be their biggest fan! Going to these games with all of my best friends will always be one of my favorite high school memories.

#2: VALENTINES DAY: On Valentines Day last year I just made the worst day out of it because I didn't have a boyfriend and I didn't get anything from anyone. So this year I decided to forget about myself and make it a good day for the people I love! So, I got each of my best friends (Joe Empey, Katelyn Jones and Cason Patterson) their favorite treats and took them on an adventure! I took them to my hidden road, that is literally hidden from all cops and the world, and flew kites out of my sunroof. Yes, it works and it ROCKS!! We then found a trail that led us to our "secret spot" as the 4 amigos and watched the sunset. I can't explain how much I love those 3. And when Kate and I thought we were going to drop them off for the night since school was the next day, we ended up inside Joe's house playing our guitars and singing songs. I say we have a little band but i'll be honest, Joe teaches me everything I know!

#3: PREFERENCE: I absolutely loved Preference this year! I had to be real speedy in asking my date, Kallan Webster, because he is one amazing guy and all the girls wanted to take him. Let's just say I had a few haters after I asked him so fast. We had the best group full of all of my best friends and we had an absolute blast! Kallan said that he never had a date that actually slow danced with him before- meaning spins, flips, and all that jazz- and it was so fun to watch him love dancing! By the end of the night we were masters and he was really proud of himself. I couldn't have asked for a better guy to take to my last girls choice dance!!

#4: STATE BASKETBALL: Remember how I said I am SCHS's most loyal fan. Well I wasn't kidding. I traveled up north with four of my cute friends: Meghan McKenna, Callie Stewart and Sarah Henderson to cheer on our team and it was a grand trip! Those are the trips that you will never forget after years go by and spending it with these 3 girls was the best!!

#5: ANSWERING TO SENIOR BALL: Senior Ball came around and to every clever way that a guy asks you, you have to find a clever way to answer them back! Tagan Johnson asked my BF Katelyn Jones with a real turkey tied to her basketball hoop which she had to pull a paper off of his colar to see who asked her. So to be funny/ clever, Garrett Ence, Warner Rigby and I dressed up in these morph suits and kidnapped Tagan from rugby practice. Of course we worked it out with the coaches before we morph men ran onto the field or we would've been killed by all of those huge men. When we tackled Tagan he started wrestling all three of us and lets just say we almost got worked but we came out on top. We carried him off the field, suran wrapped him to the softball field's tree, sprayed him with silly string and then left him there for a little bit. Funniest part about it was when the rugby team realized that I was actually a woman- not a male....

#6: MY BEST FRIENDS BIRTHDAY: I love birthdays and I especially love Megan. To celebrate we kidnapped her at 12:30 to take her to Denny's and then with all of our friends later at her house. Denny's runs and spending time with my favorite people is always a must for me :) But let's splurge about Meg for a bit. Megan has been my buddy since 6th grade. She has been there through the thick and thin especially when I needed her most. I've been SO grateful for her as I've started college because she has really been a rock for me. Even though she's in St. George and i'm in Provo, she's been there every second of the way and helping me more than she knows. You know those friends that you know you'll always stay close with no matter where you go? That's Meg. Meggers, I love you!!

#7: SENIOR BALL: Senior year, I with a Junior to every dance excluding Preference which was girls choice and I have to say they were all top notch guys!! So of course I have to end my year by going to Senior Ball with the great Garrett Ence!! Now Garrett and I had Floriculture all year together but before Senior Ball I think he spoke about one word to me- so lets just say it was shocking when he asked me! I'm so glad he did though because I seriously love that guy! He was SO much fun and I couldn't have asked for a better date to my last dance. He spoiled me. Really he did. And quite honestly, a lot of girls wanted Garrett to ask them so I felt really special. Its fun how you can become such great friends with someone so fast just by something as simple as a school dance. All in all, I LOVED every minute Senior Ball and i loved my date!!

#8: LIVESTOCK SHOW: Every year my Grandpa Gubler buys each of the grandchildren a steer to raise and show at the Livestock Show to help with college and missions. Let's just say I have had to learn to become a cow girl and be brave enough to walk around a 1200 pound steer. This year was real special because I sold my last Brutus. Brutus the 7th to be exact and boy, did I get worked! My biggest fear, getting kicked by a steer, came true and holy moly, it hurt!! As much as it takes for me to do the show, I am so grateful for it. Yes, Steers scare the daylights out of me but I would not be where I am at BYU if it wasn't for my loving Grandpa and the Show. Who knew something so scary could be so great?!

#9: DADDY DAUGHTER DATE: Every little girl has their Daddy Daughter Dates that happen at least two times in their life but mine didn't happen until it was time for me to move on to Relief Society. At first I wasn't so excited about it because I was a little old, but it was one of my favorite nights! My Dad and I danced and laughed so hard I couldn't help but love every minute of it! At one point my Dad said,  "Kimbee, you know next time I dance with you it will be at your wedding." Wow. I got a little sad and excited when he said that. Life is so crazy but i'm glad I got to spend a fun night with my wonderful Dad!

#10: EXEC LASTS: Being able to serve on Exec Senior Year was the best opportunity I could ever have! All of my siblings served on their Exec Councils so it was always a dream for me to be able to too and boy, what a dream it was! It was work, lots of work, but all so worth it! All of these wonderful people are like family to me and I will always love them. When it came close to the end of the year I had a hard time accepting that Exec was going to be over. I wasn't sad about leaving High School but the thought of Exec being over killed me. So we made every last minute count and went out with a bang! Thinking back on High School, this was the hight of my career and I kind of want to go back just to live those days with my council again. I love my council!!

#11: SLIP-N-SLIDE: For one of our last activities at school, we put on a giant slip-n-slide and chalk festival after school and it was so fun! All of the sports teams were out there sliding with a group of council members and students so it was a party! It's activities like that, that make high school fun.

#12: SLEEPOVER IN THE SCHOOL: It was always a wish of ours as a council to sleep inside the school for a night but that is clearly breaking the rules. One night when we were at the school having assembly practice for Senior Showoff, Breckon Lewis, Meghan McKenna, Sydnee Yates and I decided that it was the perfect night to sleep in the school! Grad Night would let us in and we would set up camp in the secret hallway in the back of the dance room. No one would suspect anything and no one would see us! Perf. We had a dance party at 2:00 in the morning and watched Les Miserables in our little hallway until we fell asleep. We all felt like we might get caught but it was our last day at SCHS and we were Exec so they wouldn't be mad at us. And guess what? We weren't caught and when the administration found out they weren't mad! We just had to keep it a secret from the school- even though it got out to our friends. Every High Schooler needs a little rebellious night to check off their bucket list so we slept in the school and it was one of the most fun nights!!

#13: SENIOR SLUFF: Normally for Senior Sluff our school goes to Lagoon for a day but my friends and I didn't want to do that and it ended up being cancelled due to State Baseball anyways. So 3 of my cute friends and I (Tagan Johnson, Megan Leavitt and Brandon McFarland) traveled up to the mountains with our four wheelers and dirt bikes and had a grand day! It was freezing and windy, but that didn't stop us from having a good time. These 3 are some of the friends I miss most being at college but being able to go on many adventures with them before I left made me oh so happy!

#14: GRADUATION: I DID IT! The long awaited day came and I was one happy girl! I was surrounded by my classmates who have been with me for years and it was crazy to think that I wouldn't see more than half of them again. I loved High School. A lot of people don't but my high school experience was one that I would never trade. I had the best friends, the best teachers, and involved in the best ways a high schooler could be! I already miss my group of friends dearly and once school starts again for my Junior clan, I will miss seeing them in the halls. Grad Night was a fun final hoorah! All of the parents worked so hard and it showed. Once 3:00 hit we were all walking zombies but I still loved being with everyone for the last time. Lucky me, I got to have my mom there too party all night with me too and she was so much fun!

#15: LAKE POWELL: The day after graduation, a group of my friends and I along with some of our families headed to Lake Powell for the weekend. It was the BEST weekend in the whole world! There was absolutely no drama and I got to be with all of my best friends before we all went our separate ways. All the boys headed off on their missions and I went up to start college. These are the people that I miss a lot. Lake Powell is perfect in itself so add all of your favorite people and it becomes the best place on earth! Lake Powell was by far my absolute, favorite trip!!!

#16: HAWAII: 4 days after coming home from Powell, off I went to Hawaii with my sister Annie and her family. I was the "nanny" of the trip but it was the best nannying job anyone could have! We stayed at the Grand Wei'lai and it was absolutely beautiful! I love my family and all of those cute kids so I was living the life!!

#17: MISS KATELYN JONES: Kate is amazing. She has got to be one of the most talented, caring, beautiful girls I have ever met in my life. When I say Kate has done so much for me I mean she goes above and beyond! The saying,  "Every blonde needs a brunette best friend" is so true. I love Kate more than she'll ever know and i'm so grateful for her! She even worked so hard to make my Birthday/ Last day in STG the best with help from Megan Leavitt by taking me to dinner, buying me a concert and throwing a surprise party. Can you see why I love her? :) I miss her every single day and I really wouldn't mind if she visited me every weekend. I love you Kitty!!!

#18: LAST DAYS WITH BRANDON: When my daily countdown started to get smaller I wanted to spend a lot of time with the people that meant most to me and one of those people was Brandon McFarland. To start off our last days memory making, we day tripped to Pine Valley- four wheeling, picnicking, skipping rocks, adventuring, being kids and laughing our hearts out! When it started to get dark we still didn't want to leave but Mother Susie called us home since we both had Youth Conference the next day. On our way home we stopped in a small town and danced in the Church parking lot. We never went to a dance together so we thought we'd have a dance on our own and it might have made it to the top of my favorite dances list. After I got home from Hawaii, we went boating with his family and lets just say we're pro surfers. Charise, Brandon's sister, challenged us to have me sit on top of Brandon's shoulders while surfing with out the rope. Sounds kinda hard right? Well it took 4 different methods but we finally got up and it was SO COOL! We then spent the rest of the day enjoying eachother's company and ended it with mini golfing blindfolded with two of our good friends. One of my wishes that B helped come alive was being able to do baptisms for the dead with one of my friends before their missions and it was one of the most special things to me. I don't think he realized how happy it made me but that was by far my favorite! Next, we watched the sunrise and sunset in the same day even though we didn't actually get to see either of them. The sunrise was too bright to look at and we were attacked during the sunset. We went to watch the sunset at the Gunlock Reservoir while kayaking but some friends of ours who were on a boat decided it would be more fun to tip us than to let us watch the sunset. It was actually pretty funny so it's okay that we missed the sunset! Then off to BYU went Kim. The following week, Brandon came up to Provo with Jace Graft and Megan Leavitt for a day trip which I absolutely LOVED! We picked up our other friend Kizzy Willey and played in Cabellas for a while. Then we went bowling and lucky us, they upgraded us for free up to the VIP room. It was a blast! The next day, friday, Megan and I drove back down to STG for Brandon's farewell and we spent our final day all together swimming and having a BBQ. Saying goodbye to Brandon was surprisingly easier than I thought, meaning I cried for a little but not as much as expected. But two days later when it finally hit me that I wasn't going to go back to STG and see my best friend, I bawled. Brandon really is my best friend and West Virginia is getting one good missionary! Those last days were the best that a girl could ask for!

#19: FOURTH WITH THE FAM: Every year for the 4th of July, my family and I venture to Grandma and Grandpa Burr's house in Koosharem, UT, a small town above Richfield, and it's the perfect little getaway. This year we headed over to Bryce Canyon for a day and it was absolutely beautiful! I love spending time with my family. They mean the world to me!!!

#20: COLLEGE GIRL: As you've probably put together by now, I am a new freshman at BYU. I love it. There have definitely been ups and downs because change is hard! But even though it has been hard, I have been so grateful for my family that is so close and for the Savior. I have felt the hand of the Lord in my life in so many ways and I am so grateful for his love for me. Coming from a place with so many friends and loved ones, it was hard to "start over" even though my sweet family lives right up the road. Luckily, I am able to go see them so often and love my little nieces and nephews so often. My siblings have been angels to me and I wouldn't be able to be here if it wasn't for them.
Yay for college! I really love BYU and everything that comes with it. Thinking of the future is fun but scary and i'm so excited to see what happens in my life!!

I love life.
Happy Day!

PROM with TOM!!!

Get ready for a long post. It's happening right now.

New year starts and 3 weeks later, it's JUNIOR PROM!! Here's a little preface:
Here's Kim who doesnt think she's going to get asked because NONE of her senior guy friends are going and Juniors take Juniors right? So it's the day before we go back to school and I get a call from Meghan McKenna that went...
Meghan: Kim! Have you been asked to JP yet?
Kim: Nope!
Meg: Have you heard of anyone wanting to?
Kim: Nope!
Meg: Great. Thanks. Bye.
Ha if that wasn't obvious I don't know what was! So now Syd and I start guessing who it could possibly be and the first person I say is Tom Jensen. We go on to say other options cause Tom taking me would be pretty random, even though I'd love it if he did. Secretly wishing it was him.
That night I go to work and right when I get off Mother Susie calls and says to hurry home. Not like that was unusual or anything. So I get home not thinking anything of it and she says I need to get to bed fast. Yeah right. It was my sisters (Annie) birthday so I had to instagram about her before the night was over. 15 minutes later of being in my bathroom enjoying my time, Susie comes up and says, "Kim. You need to go to bed." Kim: "Mom what is up. You've never cared about me getting to bed so much before." Mom: " You havent even looked at your bed have you?" Kim: "Great. What did you do to my bed Mom. haha"
So I go in and saw the poster, did a little jig, and then decided I should probably read it now.
Unscramble the red letters to find my name. How in the blazes do I unscramble those? Well I didnt need to. I just turned to Susie and asked if it was Tom, hoping with all of my heart that it was. And IT WAS!!
I was going crazy I was so excited! The only person I would want to go with asked me. Hallelujah!!

Now Tom has an obsession with my Sugar Cookies. I honestly don't know why but they reformed our long lost friendship so I like those cookies too!! So to answer him back, what would be better than making him giant sugar cookies? Super easy and he loved it. Perf.

2 weeks later the dance came and I can't explain how much fun it was! Again we ventured up to the Gates' cabin and I love it because every time you do different things and make different memories!
We started off with a little dog piling to get a little warmer and then on to the main event!
The ultimate steal the flag snow ball fight.
You know in movies when they have snow ball fights and their like ninjas flying everywhere and the snowballs fly freaky fast? Yep. That's how our fight was. C.R.A.Z.Y!! I did get a few bruises from the flying snow balls at rapid pace, but it was so fun!!
We then traveled to another groups cabin where we raided them with snow balls and challenged them to a fight- but they refused. Little wussies. So after they refused, we walked/ fast walked/ ran to have lunch. Those boys did good. Pizza, veggies, chocolate, the whole 9 yards. I was proud of them. Then we hooked up the Mario Cart and had a competition that did get pretty intense. I love Mario Cart and Tom probs didnt know that, but i was in heaven with all of it! Did I mention how hard I was laughing? Tom and the rest of the gang have got to be the funniest kids on the block!! It's the normal thing for people to say "We definitely have the best group." but when I say we had the best group this time there's no stretching the truth. Holy Cow I could live with all of these people and be happy for the rest of my life. There would be no sadness happening EVER!! And i'd probably laugh myself to sleep every night.
After dropping us off, I never stopped. Mother Susie was working magic on my dress and we finished getting ready/ dress prep right to the last second that we could! It was convenient that Tom was late because I wouldn't have been ready in time, which is abnormal for me.
We drove over to the Pizza Factory to have dinner and then went to Lazer Mania to play lazer tag. So. Who on earth plays lazer tag in prom dresses? Everyone thought we were a bunch of hooligans but it was awesome! My sequins lit up with all the lights so I wasn't to hard to see, but I still dominated. Play lazer tag in a prom dress. That's checked off my bucket list!!
Once 9:30 hit, off to the dance we went and we got the party started! When we got there NO ONE was dancing and it was really awkward, but we changed that real fast!! Once the dance was over, we were soaked to the bone in sweat and my hair was a wreck. Everyone was a sweaty mess but hey, we partied hard and it was worth it!
When the day was over, I just wanted to go re-live it again. Tom was the BEST date and I have never had more fun at a dance! I could be 100% myself, and I'm weird i'll admit it, but me and Tom laughed the night away!

Prom with Tom couldn't have been better!!

CAMO NIGHT

There is not a day that goes by that i'm not running from somewhere to the next! So to make it enjoyable, I've let my weird, little girl side come out. Boy, it's been fun! Right after school, Kate asked me to go help her answer her Jr. Prom date back and we had a lot of fun with that!! She needed to make a pig out of a balloon, a giant balloon, and we were in one of our moods. On the way back to our house we decided to stick it out the window and just let it fly, kind of like smoke from a jet pack kind of thing. Let's just say we were dying in the car and i'm sure we made everyone's day that we passed. Weird looks resulting in laughs. What could be better right?

From there I ran to turn into a hunter. We as a Exec Council and Spirit Council planned a HUGE entrance as an army and we were all decked out in Camo. I honestly have never seen our crowd so big and decked out before. It was awesome! Our crowd was off the walls in energy and we were so loud! We even made the news it was so good. I just love Snow Canyon. It's times like these that I will never forget and miss forever.

Senior year. This is it and i'm loving it!

Let's RIDE!

One Saturday morning, I got a little call from Kenzie Jolley asking me to go tandem bike riding with some of our sophie friends and Meghan and how could I refuse such an offer! We rounded up 3 tandems and off we went! Along the way we:
1. Froze our little bums off. Literally we were faweeezin!
2. Broke a chain and had a nice friend come to the rescue
3. Had to cut the ride short because it was so cold
But! That did not stop us from having the time of our lives. We sang, laughed, froze a little more, but I would re-live that little ride in a heartbeat if i could!!

Some say Miss Meghan McKenna and I look like twins, sisters, you name it and that is the best compliment that I ever receive! She is so beautiful inside and out, i'm proud to be called her twin :)

And i've said this all ready but these Sophomore girls are top notch. Lucky me, one of them is my cousin so I get to spend the eternities with her!!

All in all, you put me outside having an adventure with these cuties and i'm bound to be one happy girl!!

~ 2013 ~

So i'm sure you know how much I love the Gates' cabin from the other 3 posts i've made about it but here comes one more!! 2012 FLEW by so fast, I honestly can't believe it. To celebrate the new year, some of my friends and I traveled up to Pine Valley to Night Sled, play games, watch movies, etc. and let me tell ya, it was a blast!
Do you see those nice 90's snow suits? I may have mentioned them before, but i've been wearing those for years! I think they are the hottest outfits to walk the block and some are embarrassed to wear them but i'm not! They've gotta be the best/warmest snow attire you could ever wear. Night Sledding was definitely the best kick start to the year. I laughed till I cried but it did get a tad too cold after a while. I did have to put my toes in the sink for quite sometime because they were frozen solid. It was all worth it though.
Once the ball dropped, we grabbed our pots and pans and had a little craze. At least some of us who had the energy did. This crew below was so much fun though!!

2013. This is the year. I can feel it!
